Chief Commercial Officer – Solar PV - London

This is a very exciting and unique opportunity… My client has been around since the early days of solar and grown into one of the world’s leading developers / EPCs. They are now at an exciting transition / growth phase as they evolve into a more global IPP business with multi GW pipeline to deliver.
As a result of this growth, they have a key need for someone to come in at Chief Commercial Officer level (with a potential to succeed the current CEO) to take ultimate responsibility the company's growing projects business. This primarily includes ownership of the P&L for the majority of the business by value across three continents and at least 10 geographical markets. This is a highly strategic role and you'll have a significant number of divisional MD and Country General Manager direct reports.
Key activities and responsibilities:
- Forecast and deliver aggressive financial targets for the projects business across all of its territories
- Execution of a substantial project pipeline
- Manage change of the projects business to one that is internationally balanced, focussed on project ownership and power trading as well as developing and contracting, and is at the cutting edge of adding storage and other value-added services alongside solar PV
- Perform a major leadership role within the organisation, working with other Executives and the Board and motivating high-performing senior staff
To be considered you must have several years’ experience in a senior leadership role in an international solar projects business. Perhaps you are already at CEO/CCO level but not really that happy where you are, or maybe you are MD, Commercial Director, looking to make a step up. You’ll have proven experience in business development, structuring finance and managing relationships with key clients. You’ll have excellent commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mind-set.
The role is based in London. Salary will be negotiated on a case by case basis but will include a very lucrative bonus scheme and gross profit shares on top.
