Performance Solutions Engineer requires a system level understanding of power plants. Engineers will work on fossil, gas turbines. combined cycle power plants and co generation units. Scope will involve work with regional commercial teams, customers, and design COEs to provide performance estimates/guarantees for modifications and upgrades of power plant components.

Essential Responsibilities

- Conduct plant performance assessments for fossil/combined-cycle and co generation units
- Use of system level performance tools to generate performance and/or emissions information and/or guarantees for upgrade/retrofit proposals
- Perform thorough reviews of all unit performance design and loading history to ensure proposed upgrades are compatible with specific units and configurations
- Coordinate with customers, regional personnel, headquarters sales, product service, and engineering to ensure proposed solutions are compatible with the unit, the customer needs, GE design standards, and establish quoting limits
- Perform system-level fleet-wide performance activities in fossil/combined-cycle and co generation units
- Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements
- Provide timely communications on significant issues and developments
- Occasional travel to customer locations in support of technical/commercial teams and for the resolution of field issues
- Promote and contribute to business initiatives (cost reduction, continuous improvement, workout, business teams, etc.)
- Capture technical risks in performance through coordination between several stakeholders and highlight to business appropriately
- Develop new ideas to make the process lean and efficient for faster response times and better quality of comments and exceptions.


- Bachelors/Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics and thermodynamic cycles as they relate to power plants
- Prior experience in power plant modelling & thermal performance simulations software/tools
- Demonstrated ability to meet goals and objectives
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

- Advanced degree in Engineering
- Prior power plant testing/energy auditing experience
- Exposure to thermo-economic modelling/analysis
- Expert proficiency in the use of computers and PC software
