About the Role:
Our client, a respected public accounting firm in Vancouver, is hiring a Senior Assurance Accountant to join their assurance practice. This opportunity is ideal for CPAs or CFE-completers with at least 2 years of experience in audit and review engagements within a public accounting firm. You’ll lead assurance files, mentor CPA students, and collaborate directly with clients from First Nations, non-profit organizations, and private enterprise sectors.
✅ Must-Have Skills:
- CPA designation or CFE completed
- 2+ years of experience in public practice (audit, review, preparation)
- Proficient in CaseWare, TaxPrep, and Microsoft Office Suite
- In-depth knowledge of ASPE and Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS)
- Proven ability to prepare financial statements, tax returns, and working papers
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
Ideal Candidate Background:
- Big 4 Firms (EY, PwC, Deloitte, KPMG)
- Mid-sized Firms (BDO, MNP, RSM, Grant Thornton, Segal GCSE, etc.)
- Boutique CPA firms serving a broad client base

Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute audit and review engagements as a senior team member
- Guide and mentor CPA students during client engagements
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, tax filings, and working papers
- Directly interact with partners and clients on assurance assignments
- Ensure compliance with assurance standards and engagement deadlines
