The Services Universal Fleet Solutions (UFS) Technical Leader will direct a team of design engineers in support of new product development projects and reverse engineering efforts for global, Non-GE wind turbines with broad scope and high impact to the Wind onshore business. You will work with cross functional teams (Product Line, Services, Engineering COEs, Sourcing, etc.) to drive team's direction and execution of programs.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Services UFS Technical Leader, you will:
• Provide technical leadership in the UFS space with engineering direction, assessments and recommendations
• Be instrumental in supporting the growth of Universal Fleet Solutions getting involved in the organization's program planning activities, providing recommendations and developing action plans to execute and complete deliverables
• Coordinate and lead risk assessment activities, safety reviews, peer reviews and technical needs in the team
• Provide technical directions to team members developing and deploying new products including documenting lessons learned from successes and failures / mistakes for future applications / programs
• Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles while adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
• Assure proper documentation of technical data generated and presented for the assigned projects and/or tasks are consistent with engineering policies and procedures
• Provide mentoring and support to younger engineers and peers in the team as needed
• Maintain pulse and provide timely communications on significant drivers: cost, quality, schedule, resources, development, issues, etc
• Contribute presenting in reviews or serving as a reviewer on team tollgates, technical meetings, customer interactions and overall team initiatives
• Integrate GE Beliefs, Lean Six Sigma, Simplification, FastWorks and other quality tools into day-to-day activities
• Work with internal & external customers on strategy, prioritization and requirements for new services products and technology for the Non-GE wind turbine installed fleet
• Support customer meetings in support of sales, proposals, requisition, test & learn, and reverse engineering opportunities to solve customer problems, including performance upgrades


• Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering from an accredited college or university
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering

• Ability and willingness to travel 15% of the time

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Desired Characteristics

• Master's Degree in Science or Engineering from an accredited college or university
• Proven record of technical knowledge and understanding of Wind Turbines and associated auxiliary equipment design, operation, and/or maintenance
• Strong analytical skills and technical aptitude
