Key findings

 

Traditional energy (oil and gas, and petrochemicals)

50% of professionals reported a pay increase this year; 22% saw rises above 5% (down from 26%)

AI uptake in traditional energy rises to 45%, but remains slower than other sectors

 

Transitional energy (power and nuclear)

52% of professionals have a career development plan, with industry training the most valued (55%)

Willingness to relocate hits new low, compounding global talent retention issues 

 

Future of energy (renewables)

60% of professionals use AI in their role, mainly for skills development, bridging knowledge gaps, and career support

Recruiting experienced professionals in the sector is the biggest challenge, according to 38% of hiring managers
