Senior Technical Manager

Job Description

JOB ROLE:

To lead the Technical Department and oversee and provide support where required. Oversee the companies Quality Management System and Quality Control activities. Ensure products meet regulatory requirements and are optimised for performance and cost. Provide full support for companies’ customers in timely manner. Be Proactive in Product development on existing and proposed resin flooring products.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Provide Technical leadership for team and wider company.

2. Manage the company’s formulation portfolio ensuring it remains complaint to all applicable regulations and legislation.

3. Manage the company’s raw material portfolio to ensure that there are viable alternatives available and that purchasing have commercial leverage.

4. Proactive new product development working closely with Sales and Marketing to match customer needs and market trends.

5. To provide technical knowledge, production support, troubleshooting and advice to the organisation to ensure a high level of technical support is realised.

6. Develop and maintain the companies ISO 9001 approved Quality Management System and ensure both internal and external audits are completed successfully.

7. Drive forward the ISO 14001 process – Already started.

8. Provide a culture such that the laboratory and the equipment therein is maintained in a clean, tidy and fully operational manner and all Health and Safety precautions are observed in line with company/departmental policy.

9. Oversee the Quality Control department to provide full support to production and monitor non-conformances, trend analysis and driving corrective actions.

10. Provide technical service to the company’s customer base, both on and off site with focus on prompt and effective resolutions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

1. Proven Technical management experience in Resin, Coatings, Polyurethane or Polyaspartic related discipline

2. Good interpersonal skills

3. Highly organised and self-motivated

4. Capable of working independently using own initiative or as part of a team.

5. Effective man management skills

6. Good working knowledge of Windows Excel and associated software packages.
