Principal Structural Engineer
Job Description
Global E&C are looking for an experienced Principal Civil Structural Engineer for a staff opportunity in Aberdeen.
This is a key role to ensure structural engineering activities are delivered in alignment with Global E&Cs integrated delivery model. You will be accountable for managing delivery and maintaining technical excellence for your allocated team/project portfolio.
Your regular duties will include:
- Supporting the Lead engineer, as required, in the overall management of the assigned team, including workload allocation, quality assurance, and delivery to the plans.
- Providing design input into tenders and proposals as required.
- Providing technical input into scopes of work, and prepare estimates as required.
- Ensuring that assigned work is compliant to agreed budget and schedule.
- Checking/approval of discipline deliverables prepared by other team members.
- Maintaining project plan and provide progress updates for assigned scopes.
- Ensuring compliance to applicable and current standards, regulations, codes and procedures.
To be successful in this role you will ideally be able to demonstrate:
- Degree qualification in a relevant engineering subject.
- Chartered with a relevant institution (e.g., ICE, IStructE.)
- Brownfield experience in the offshore sector.
- Experience in process facility concrete foundations including raft and piled types.
- Technical competence in concept, FEED and detailed design of steel structures.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of relevant design codes and standards (e.g. Eurocodes, AISC, DNV, etc.)
- Competence in the use of relevant engineering analysis and calculation software (e.g. STAAD.Pro, Mathcad, and any other relevant packages.)
- Competence in commercial, contractual, and administrative aspects of Engineering.
