Who are We looking for?

We are seeking a EngOps Engineer & Project Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for setting-up and managing the systems used by the engineering teams to solve and troubleshoot complex engineering challenges to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements

• Ideally educated to Degree level within a relevant Engineering/ Scientific Subject (or equivalent work experience).
• Proficiency in using online cloud tools and software.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• A keen eye for detail is essential and a passion for continuous improvement.

Required Duties

• Engineering Development Infrastructure (EngOps): A fantastic opportunity in a small team to start with a blank slate and implement and maintain light touch but robust engineering systems that facilitate engineering product development (both hardware and software).
• Cloud and Local Services: Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure and services (e.g., GitHub, Monday.com, etc.), together with local infrastructure and services (e.g., IDEs, CAD tools, etc.).
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance development teams’ efficiency.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with design & development teams and operations teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Automation: Implement, and maintain automated processes for building, testing, and releasing software (and hardware), ensuring repeatability and efficiency.
• Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for processes, procedures, and configurations to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.
• Change Management: Set-up systems for managing change that are able to handle changes in projects and products, including their scope, objectives, and requirements, ensuring appropriate approvals and adjustments.
• QMS Documentation: Set-up and maintain the QMS documentation system that engineering systems ultimately would populate during projects.
• Project Planning (Project Management): A fantastic opportunity in a small team to transition into Project management once the set-up and maintenance of EngOps is settled and thus a decreasing portion of the role. Move on to develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, high-level budgets, and resource allocation. Define project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
• Team Leadership: Lead and motivate project teams, including assigning tasks, setting priorities, and managing resources. Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
• Stakeholder Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment with project goals and expectations.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular project status reports, including progress updates, milestones achieved, and upcoming tasks. Maintain project documentation for future reference.
• Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Proactively address issues that may impact project timelines or deliverables.
• Budget Control: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and ensure projects are delivered within approved financial parameters.
• Quality Assurance: Implement quality control processes to ensure project deliverables meet or exceed defined standards.
• Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
