Engineering Director – Cloud. A major financial services company are looking for an interim engineering director to lead platform engineering for their global cloud technology function.

This is a deeply technical leadership role which requires a strong understanding of contemporary clouds (AWS, Azure) as well as best practice platform engineering and devops practices.

In particular, the opportunity is for someone who has led the end-to-end initiation through to BAU of a cloud and platform engineering function, at scale, over a multi-year time frame at a single client, so has experience in both the establishment of the platform, and the challenges of it’s day-to-day running and operations, over significant time, for the same organisation.

You should apply for this role if you are/have:

• 7+ years engineering experience working with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure)
• End-to-end platform engineering experience, at scale, over a multi-year time frame
• Strong understanding of contemporary devops practices and technologies, and their implementation (CI/CD etc)
• Strong project management and leadership experience in global, matrix, multi-vendor environment
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and management experience
• Equivalent of Director experience with oversight of very large engineering
• Degree educated or higher in a relevant technical discipline

This is a £900-£950 PAYE role (cf. £1100 umbrella) initially for six months, but extendible. Based London. Hybrid working.
