Automation / Electrical Engineer Share Seeking Automation Engineer with 3+ years of experience for the Medical Material Manufacturing Industry (GMP Site)Location: South Eastern SuburbsSalary: $100K - $110K + SuperEmployment conditions: Full time (38 hour week)· Safe, Stable and Secure Global Medical Material Manufacturing Company with free onsite parking· Full position description will be available to all suitable candidates· Seeking an individual, ideally with 3+ years of experience that has strong fault-finding ability, PLC programming skills and automation experience within a manufacturing company that complies with GMP or is used to high manufacturing standards. The initial focus of the role will be on machine improvements, project management of equipment upgrades and the development of strategies/recommendations that will improve the reliability and performance of plant equipment.The role:Summary of Role (as per our client's PD which will be sent to shortlisted candidates)The Electrical / Automation Engineer is responsible for:•Undertaking detailed analysis of production equipment to develop strategies and recommendations that will improve the reliability and performance•Providing support for plant issues that are impacting production over a short period of time and technical expertise as required•Conducting work in a safe manner and demonstrating a strong commitment to the values of passion, accountability, respect, teamwork and innovation.Specific Responsibilities1.SafetyContribute to achieving an environmentally sound and safe workplace by improving the electrical reliability and performance of equipment and systems to comply with all standard regulations•Make sure all working areas are safe before jobs are started•Never leave an area in an unsafe state•Report hazards and incidents to your Manager•Participate in Incident Investigations, Risk Assessments and Work Area Inspections•Ensure all tasks are executed using the appropriate safety standards and are compliant with policies, regulations and SOP’s2. QualityEnsure that all works are completed as efficiently as possible and to the required quality standards•Ensure that all SOP’s are followed to ensure GMP compliance•Create, contribute to and maintain SOP’s and Forms according to standards for machine operations electrically•Review standard maintenance tasks (PM’s, RM’s) and other relevant documents and provide feedback to upgrade or improve them•Participate in required training, including SOP’s, GMP, OH&S and 5S•Train staff in Standard Operating Procedures, Permit processes and operation of equipment relating to your work and ensure training records including licenses and certificates are up to date at the end of each month3. ProductivityEnsure that the Production equipment is running at optimal performance meeting the needs of production•Serve as a subject matter expert in Electrical / Automation equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations•Provide technical expertise to plant personnel on troubleshooting Electrical / Automation failures, repairs and evaluation whether the equipment is designed to meet its intended or existing service conditions•Develop Engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that affect production, these include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance•Achieve asset performance (production at rate) and reliability (equipment runs when needed without interruption) business objectives•Work with Engineering/Projects to ensure new equipment meets the needs of the business•Perform analysis of assets including (but not limited to); Asset Utilisation, Equipment Effectiveness, Remaining Useful Life and Other parameters as required•Work with Engineering, Quality and Production to develop and document machine manuals, SOP’s and maintenance procedures4. Contractor Management•Ensure contractors are site inducted and licenses recorded as per standards prior to commencing work•Sign off on work completed by contractors, reviewing reports submitted at the completion of the workKey Relationships (internal and external)•Engineering•Production•R&D•QA•Management PersonnelJob Environment•The position is located at Bayswater•Working hours: 38 hour week, paid monthly•Local, interstate and international travel as requiredEssential Skills, Knowledge and AttributesPersonal Qualities•Strong communication skills with proven ability to mentor staff•Persistent – able to persevere with challenging tasks and see them through to completion•Work in a co-operative and supportive way and be committed to the success of the Engineering Department and the business as a whole•Flexible to changing priorities•Focused on quality and safetyKnowledge and Skills•Sound electrical / automation aptitude – able to diagnose root cause within the expected time frames and identify machine deficiencies on the run and impart knowledge to others•Experience with fault finding, root cause analysis, machine setup and installation is essential•Change management skills combined with the ability to engage and influence at all levels with a consultative, enabling approach, to drive improvement and efficiency is essential•Organisational skills – well organised and able to prioritise work to make the best use of the available resources – people, equipment, materials, time – to meet or exceed the requirements of Production.Requirements:· Degree level qualification Engineering, preferably Electrical· A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role at a manufacturing company with high-quality standards such as food, beverage, pharmaceutical, steel, automotive, paint etc· Excellent attitude, interpersonal and communication skills· Team leadership experience and ability to mentor is favourable· Ability to build strong relationships with Production, R&D, QA, Engineering and Senior ManagementIf you have the above experience and meet the requirements, please hit the apply button now and attach your resume and cover letter – we look forward to hearing from you!
