• Maintain audit and HSE procedures and systems, with the HSE Manager, to provide a framework for the business to meet corporate and legal requirements

• Provide advice on HSE matters and good practice, so that business, corporate and legal requirements are met in an effective and appropriate manner both at site and in the office

• Advise and support site managers in the production of an HSE plan, so that best practice is consistently applied (CDM)

• Provide input to proposals as necessary to assure potential clients of the HSE approach and capability of the business

• Audit compliance to HSE requirements, both within the business and with suppliers and subcontractors, and track progress on actions arising, to ensure that procedure and systems are applied consistently

• Provide information for management reports covering HSE-related activities and incidents, so that senior management, the staff consultative committee and others have clear visibility of performance and trends

• Available to work away from home on occasion as to suit current work loads

• Lead incident investigations (within the areas of responsibility) so that the integrity and completeness of the investigation and actions arising is assured


• Member of IOSH or MIIRSM

• NEBOSH certificate

• Significant site and construction experience

• Good interaction skills

• Good knowledge and working experience with CDM

• Current UK driving licence

• Be comfortable working at height, as this role will involve climbing vertical ladders and stairs


• Member of the APS

• Environmental qualification and experience with 14001

• SC or DV clearance
