The Supplier Operations Support team is chartered with driving operational excellence and process compliance within Tesla's supply base. Flawless and structured execution in the supply chain is a critical enabler for efficient and effective operations at Tesla's production facilities, and ultimately to enabling timely delivery of product to customers. The Supplier Operations Team primary scope will be order to invoice process execution (for example, ship to order, advanced shipment notification, part packaging and labeling, etc.). Team members will become experts on these processes, both from a Tesla and Supplier perspective. Key elements of success include driving clear and easy to execute process requirements, effective partnership with suppliers, clear documentation and training, and clear and transparent performance measures which enable clear accountability and follow- up. The Supply Chain Support team is global in scope, and these roles will require cross-functional engagement within Tesla and across the extended supply chain. The manager needs to be an exceptional individual who excels in many different areas: as a communicator, as a technical expert and as a leader

  • Identify common failure modes, determine appropriate response and drive resolution.
  • Frequent direct interaction with suppliers - over email, over the phone, and in person via site visits.

  • Ability to evaluate and analyze data to enable operational decision-making or present clear recommendations to leadership. Capability to prioritize own and team's activities to have the largest operational impact.
  • Lateral thinker with exceptional judgment - ability to develop process and drive schedules but also comfortable quickly changing direction when that is the best course of action.
  • Passionate and relentless in following up on issues until a final resolution achieved and sustained process improvements are deployed and verified.
  • Great communicator, both internally with the team and with other Tesla stakeholders as well as externally with suppliers - comfortable having difficult conversations.
