Tesla's Manufacturing Finance team facilitates better, faster, and more informed decision-making through the Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality organizations. We do not view financial intelligence as an objective in itself, but as a toolbox to achieve our goals. We leverage our abilities to reach high-volume manufacturing of the most advanced electric vehicles, solar roofs, and energy storage products.

Working side-by-side with the Manufacturing Finance team and their respective business partners, we manage the entire data value chain: from raw data to visualization and communication to developing our enterprise data ecosystem.

The tight integration of our team with the manufacturing organization means we keep pace with constantly growing needs and strive to not only support but to actively drive better decisions with every new product launch and manufacturing process.

Duties are assigned and prioritized based upon the company's evolving needs and include:
  • Work with finance, accounting, IT, and other business partners to drive the development of reporting and analytics platforms, establish and automate processes, and ensure accuracy in financials
  • Improve reporting rhythms to both operations and finance leadership, driving a powerful feedback loop through Finance, Service, Manufacturing, and Engineering
  • Modularize the manufacturing forecast to support the four current factories, and invest for 10x geographic and product growth
  • Partner with finance analysts to help automate manual workflows and train them in tools and skills to become self-sufficient as needed
  • Perform rigorous analyses on large, complex data sets and provide strategic insights, hypotheses, and conclusions based upon findings

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from a top university and 3+ years equivalent experience (finance experience preferred)
  • Experience with commercial and emerging BI ecosystems (Microsoft BI stack preferred: SQL Server [SQL], SSIS, SSAS Multidimensional [MDX], and SSAS Tabular [DAX])
  • Experience with self-service ETL/visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx)
  • Experience using various programming languages to analyze data & automate processes (past use of Microsoft's M & DAX languages is a plus)
  • Self-starter with demonstrated success in driving positive change in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
  • Ability to work independently and with ambiguity; detail-oriented and execution focused
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, highly collaborative
