The Repair Development Center (RDC) Machining and Tooling Technician will specialize in manual machining, CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining, tool design and tool making, You will work as part of a team responsible for identifying, developing, industrializing, and globalizing new machining and tooling repair technology for the GE Global Service Center Network.

Essential Responsibilities

As the RDC Machining and Tooling Technician, you will:
  • Be responsible for the programming and operations of RDC machine tools for tool making and project execution
  • Be responsible for RDC manual machining area
  • Design and manufacture of tooling, work holding and other machining process related equipment in the RDC
  • Be responsible for the substantiation of service centers repair process qualifications / certifications
  • Develop new repair process technology to assist component team in implementing repair strategy
  • Train Global Service Center personnel of machining processes and equipment
  • Perform repair process technology experiments in RDC's (Repair and Development Centers)
  • Define industrialized process audit / quality requirements and perform audits of global service centers for adherence to best practices / process requirements
  • Support Machining and Tooling process inquiries from global service centers
  • Document technical data, including tooling designs, generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews


  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manual machining, CNC machining and programming or tool making

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
  • Ability and willingness to travel globally 20% of the time

    Desired Characteristics

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Machine tool technology, Engineering technology or a related discipline from an accredited university or college
