  • Independently manage and realize mainly E&I CAPEX projects (but also multidisciplinary) in a  safe  and qualitative way, according to scope, within budget and timing from EPC gate (detailed design) to final in service:
    • write Project Execution Plan, assemble the Project team and determine the schedule and responsibilities for the team. o ensure safe construction of a safe process installation ( process safety and ergonomics)
    • ensure the legal compliance of the modified installation
    • integration of the project within the existing environment (monitoring of scope changes, guidance and coordination of own staff and contractors, engineering offices, installation of project within an existing process environment during run or during shut-down.)
    • manage projectcosts within budget
    • planning and coordination of the various activities such as engineering, approvals and other activities of internal services, purchase and construction
    • ensure qualitative realization of scope by reviewing and correcting engineering towards RC specifications, reviewing and selecting  vendor quotations.
    • decide which materials should be purchased (instrumentation/piping) and selecting contractors for the construction works, both in coordination with the purchase Department.
    • managing construction supervisors and management of contractors during the construction and testing phases of a project.
  • advice and technical support to the internal organization during pré project and FEED engineering and with cost estimates:
    • based on knowledge and experience giving input to the ' process engineering' department during the feasibility phase of CAPEX projects
    • Support FEED engineering phase and perform or assist during FEED and EPC gate cost estimates
  • Internal procedures en technical specifications:
    • Revise technical specifications and participate into related group network meetings

Context and environment

 The project must be integrated into a working petrochemical unit and the associated risks should be identified and controlled. Because of the large number of stakeholders, a good coordination and communication between various internal services and external parties is essential for the realization of the project:

• external: suppliers, contractors, partners, control organisms, engineering offices • Internal: process service, production, maintenance, purchasing, inspection, warehouse, HSE service,

• Within Projects dept: document management and construction service.  


Final responsibility of the various aspects of the assigned investment projects:
• Safety • Regulatory compliance • Investment budget • Planning • Quality • Scope
• Responsibility for the accuracy of EPC cost estimates for investment projects

  • Master in Engineering
  • Good knowledge of different engineering disciplines (mainly E&I, but also pressure vessels, piping, civil, electrical, …) legislation (PED, ATEX, SIL...) and codes, good  knowledge of refinery & petrochemical processes and hazards
  • Organisational and communication competencies (bilingual  : Dutch – English).
  • Technical feeling and critical attitude.
  • Multidisciplinary team coordination capabilities
  • 5-10  years experience in a technical environment
