ABB gomtec is seeking a Safety Developer to join a small safety-focussed team, to extend the safety functionality of a collaborative robot (designed to work together with humans). To support the collaborative features, safety functionality is needed across distributed control nodes and a central controller. Are you a skilled and enthusiastic programmer? - Your tasks encompass the entire development lifecycle: from requirements, to architecture, to design, to implementation and testing.
- For this position, a high degree of self-organisation is expected due to the diverse nature of the projects, which require creative solutions on a daily basis.
- Additionally, you also should be team-minded, as all projects require coordination with other departments and ABB development sites.

- To be considered for this position, you will require a Bachelor or Master degree in computer science or other scientific studies, i.e. mathematics, physics, engineering/robotics etc., complemented by several years of work experience.
- You're experienced in functional safety development and safety development processes.
- This role also calls for an Expert-level in C++ and C-programming skills, including good object-oriented programming skills as well as real-time programming skills.
- You're experienced in embedded systems, especially in embedded real-time Operating Systems.
- Knowledge of the operating systems Windows and Linux is necessary.
- Programming skills in Matlab or Python are desirable.
- A fluent command of English and German, both written and spoken, is essential.
