Role synopsis
NEXCEL has the potential to change the way in which lubricants are delivered, used and collected in the car market through the creation of a 'precision lubrication system', and offers significant efficiency, financial and environmental benefits to the industry. The heart of the NEXCEL precision lubrication system is a patented hardware system akin to an ink jet cartridge (oil cell). Programmes with major automotive partners are underway, and the NEXCEL team are working towards manufacture and supply of the oil cells to the market.

NEXCEL is a start-up business with its own premises. The NEXCEL site includes offices for circa 30 team members and a workshop and host all the business functions in one place.

This role is an essential part of the programme team, with two main areas of responsibility:
Site management of the dedicated NEXCEL premises, and support of the staff within. Project management of tasks within the programme, quality and environment areas of the team.
Under site/ facilities management responsibilities:
Operating & maintaining the Reading facility Manage Purchase 2 Pay process Managing building works on site and any method statement requests coming with any changes required to the site
Under project management:
Support the delivery of the ISO accreditation alongside the Senior quality engineer and the line manager Support the NPI process set up (new product induction) - this role will work closely with NEXCEL Programme managers to roll out the NPI for the NEXCEL units Further project management of the facilities renovation & building works
Additionally this role will be expected to cover Admin support for key internal and external team meetings.

  • NEXCEL is looking for a candidate who is excited and motivated by joining a dynamic start up business with ambitious plans for growth. The candidate should be prepared to get involved in all aspect of the business in a fast pace environment and embrace agile working in this wide ranging role. A strong preference will be given to a candidate who has a background in Automotive.

Key accountabilities
This role provides a great variety of opportunities work right across our business from ensuring the supply of tea and coffee to our site to managing complex and wide ranging projects:
  • Site management of the NEXCEL premises, including
    • Management of Site Maintenance
    • Maintenance of all HSSE requirements of the activities for the site, in line with current legislation
    • Invoice process and approval (P2P)
    • Project manage the site facilities building works on site and any method statement requests coming with any changes required to the site
    • Supervise contractors according to Control of Work processes
    • Purchase of fixed equipment e.g. ramps and extractor systems
    • Work shop administration (including waste management contracts
    • Leading on site safety walks
    • Drafting and reviewing risk assessments

  • Administration support:
    • Facilitate weekly project, team and operational meetings
    • Administration and continuous improvement of our SharePoint (shared online information area) for the NEXCEL Team
    • Organisation & coordination of team meetings and internal event management

  • At a stretch you'll also have the opportunity to:
    • Support of the Programme manager in the development of the New product Introduction process (NPI) Process for NEXCEL:
    • Design the process with the Function Leaders, develop the required documentation for the various gateway
    • Support of the Implementation manager in the set-up of the ISO 9001 & 14001 set up.
    • Part of our core team who will be responsible for driving the development agenda.

Essential Education
Ability to manage complex projects to completion through fit-for-purpose project management techniques

BP's Fuels Value Chains (FVCs) supply transportation fuels to markets in North America, Europe, Southern Africa, Australia and New Zealand. In addition to the Pangbourne site, GFT teams are also based in Naperville (US), Bochum (Germany) and Cape Town (South Africa), where they provide direct support to the regional Fuels Value Chain businesses.
