  1. Assure that all operation and maintenance activities are performed in a safe manner consistent with policies and procedures established for the wind farm site.
  2. Performing up-tower major component replacements on multiple turbines manufactures, including GE, Siemens, Vestas, Gamesa and/or Mitsubishi. Replacements include:
    • Assist in transportation, setup and the operation of up-tower gearbox replacement tools.
    • Assure proper storage, maintenance and handling of all Large Corrective tools and equipment.
  3. Train and guide site operations and maintenance personnel in main component replacements.
  4. Travel up to 80% of the time throughout the USA to service various wind farm facilities.
  5. Travel up to 5 weeks at a time with at least one week back home rotation.
  6. Perform safety and other wind farm related tasks when assigned and fill in as back up to personnel at other E.ON sites when necessary.
  7. Self-motivator; Ability to work successfully, safely and independently at remote wind farm locations.
  8. Hold and Maintain current CDL Class A license.
  9. All other duties as assigned.

Two (2) years of overall experience with at least one (1) years in to operations and/or maintenance of power generation and related facilities, including experience with wind turbines.  Turbine major component replacement experience required; experience across multiple manufactures (i.e. Siemens, GE, Vestas, Mitsubishi) strongly preferred. Previous crane and rigging experience required.
SUBSTITUTION CLAUSE: A current journeyman or master electrician license may substitute for 1 year of experience. A wind technician certificate program can substitute for 1 year of experience.
Associate degree in Sciences or related field from an accredited school preferred.

Hazardous conditions include: working at height up to 300', working in confined spaces, exposure to bloodborne pathogens, exposure to energized electrical equipment, exposure to rotating equipment, and working in extreme hot and cold conditions.
The work requires climber pass a fit-for-duty medical examination upon hiring and every 2 years thereafter and maintain a body weight of 270 lbs or less. The work also requires flexibility and full range of movement in confined spaces.
The work may require providing first aid/CPR. This requires maintenance of First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
The work will require irregular work hours depending upon the required response of site operations to address the unpredictable needs of the wind farm.
