As Technical Leader you are responsible for driving profitable growth through increasing sales of GE's wind turbines in Germany, Austria, Switzerland (DACH) and the Benelux countries (BNLX) in collaboration with the Commercial Leader and the Sales Account Manager. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to work closely with their assigned Customers as well as with GE's internal functions

Essential Responsibilities

  • Create competitive technical proposals for your Customers including definition of scope of supply, division of responsibilities, internal costing (DTOs) and technical terms, following sales opportunities through all the way from the initial Customer request for quotation to ultimate contract closure
  • Lead virtual project teams and coordinate proposal development with Sales, Application Engineering, Product Line, GPO, Service,
  • Risk Management, Finance, Project Management and other functions to maximize Customer value and meet business goals
  • Present proposal summaries including a technical Risk and Mitigation Plan (Engineering RAMP) to the Risk (R) Table and obtain proper approval for the critical items of each transaction
  • Provide Customers with proposals in due form and time,in German and when necessary in English language
  • Lead the technical part of the project specific contract negotiations with the Customer and take responsibility for the technical terms in close coordination with the Application Engineer, the Commercial Leader and the Account Manager
  • Manage advance engineering releases and full commercial releases of contracts to the Project Management (OTR) team
  • Proactively contribute to the continuous simplification process in order to improve Customer alignment and responsiveness


  • Enthusiasm for Renewable Energy and experience in working with Customers and negotiating technical terms and conditions
  • Experience in activities driving profitable growth for the Customer and for GE
  • Proven skills in leading (virtual) project teams
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and own cross-functional activities and initiatives
  • Professional communication skills, confidence with Customers and executive level business presentations
  • Willingness to cope with high workload during negotiation periods and to travel regularly
  • Good ability to simultaneously manage multiple transactions and to prioritize properly
  • Process driven, determined to reach the goals as well as creative and flexible
  • Team oriented, proactively helping Customers and other team members
  • Engineering degree, preferably in combination with business background
  • Professional experience in the energy industry
  • Fluent in verbal and written technical & business German and English

Desired Characteristics

  • Previous position in Application or Requisition Engineering, Product Line, Sales, Marketing, Commercial Finance, Project Management or Service
  • Previous experience at a Wind developer, a utility company or other Onshore Wind player
  • Commercial degree
  • Fluent in Dutch and/or French language
