Jacobs has an opening for a Network Operations Technician Tier 1 position at their customer site in the Reston, VA area. This will be a shift position of 2PM-10PM.

The network operations center (NOC) surveillance technician provides Tier 1 surveillance and operational support of multiple and expansive IP networks and peripheral devices. They identify and respond to incidents while performing rudimentary triage and resolution of Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), intranet, internet and other data communication systems. NOC surveillance technicians, through rapid response, ensure network availability and reliability to all systems and users within established Service Level Targets (SLT). They are responsible for managing the NOC's incident management work flow, escalations and dispatches for repair. Interaction, status and communication with the customer/s and management is paramount to success in this position.

NOC technicians are responsible to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLA's) are met within Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets. Interfaces daily with the customer and program management to inform and present information on projects or maintenance activities while providing situational awareness of critical services and outages.
Must have Active TS SCI with Poly

Two (2) years of college in a computer field and four (4) years of related experience or any equivalent combination of relevant education or experience for a total of six (6) years. Progressive relevant training and/or certification may be substituted for one (1) year of education or experience requirements

Desired Certifications: Network+ Certification

Job Essentials:

Must be able to sit at a workstation for 8 hours a day or more.
