We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Sr. EH&S Engineer in our Operating Plant Business organization with the position being located in Madison, PA.

Previous environmental and sustainability experience preferred for maintaining ISO 14001 certification, waste and energy reporting, preparing documents, procedures and presentations for various groups and meetings, database management, community outreach, cost savings and meeting company reduction goals for environmental impacts.  Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing as well as be proficient in the use of computers.  In this position, a Sr. EH&S Engineer can expect to be responsible for the following:
  • Maintain all documents necessary to ensure the Waltz Mill site is in compliance with the ISO 14001 standard and keeps its certification.
  • Conduct training sessions with contractor groups to educate staff on the site's Environmental Policy and ISO 14001 certification.
  • Prepare presentations for Environmental Management System team and Management Review team meetings.
  • Create and maintain the Waltz Mill Environmental Management Plan.
  • Collect data and generate waste and energy usage reports for the Waltz Mill and New Stanton sites to provide to Toshiba.
  • Collect data and complete the PADEP annual and biennial waste reporting for Waltz Mill and New Stanton.
  • Prepare for environmental audits taking place at the Waltz Mill site and lead efforts for the EHS team.
  • Fulfill requirements to correct findings of environmental audits in CAPs.
  • Co-ordinate Earth Day initiatives each year which include road-side clean up and biodiversity projects.
  • Facilitate the donation of re-usable goods to non-profit organizations to promote community outreach and cost savings.
  • Manage the Change Management system in place for the Waltz Mill site for tracking new equipment, processes and chemicals.
  • Develop and maintain the Waltz Mill and New Stanton Site's Sustainability work plans, tracking progress and ensuring reduction goals are met.
  • Serve as Waltz Mill Site Champion for the sustainability efforts providing updates on the initiatives during meetings.
  • Compose documents to be distributed to the entire site to notify staff of best practices for processes which have significant environmental impacts.
  • Compose articles for the Exchange newsletter promoting the positive environmental impacts of initiatives being implemented.
  • Perform cost benefit analysis on current processes to determine if they can be performed more environmentally friendly or economically.
  • Develop and review procedures for processes with environmental impacts.
  • Conduct monthly visual inspections of above ground storage tanks containing petroleum based products.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
The successful candidate for this position will possess the following:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Previous experience as an environmental engineer, including work with ISO 14001 and sustainability practices
