Jacobs is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects and is actively seeking a creative, highly talented roadway engineer for immediate employment.

The St. Louis office is comprised of a comprehensive group of professionals who are technical leaders in our industry and work on a variety of projects. Project types range from large design/build infrastructure projects to smaller traditional projects within the government and commercial sector.

The Sitework Engineer will work with interoffice and outside architects in a land development role. The incumbent will be responsible for delivering a quality product in a fast-paced environment and willing to challenge their skills with a wide range of responsibilities. This position supports a corporate wide strategy to provide superior engineering solutions to our clients worldwide.

The Sitework Engineer will have the ability to apply engineering techniques and analysis within the discipline learned through required education or previous experience. The engineer will be an independent team member capable of leading projects with minimal supervision and participate in marketing activities. The candidate will be capable and flexible in work assignment that may include other facets of Civil Engineering such as drainage and highway design when needed.

• Perform civil design calculations, computer modeling, detailing, and plan set production for each project.

• Focus on the details of a project while understanding the big picture from the project team perspective.

• Coordinate project assignments with other engineers and technicians on project team.

• Utilize CAD software packages - InRoads and Civil 3D.

• Research City, State, and Federal Codes.

• Prepare conceptual designs and interact during planning charrette studies.

• Prepare project scope of work and associated fee estimates.

• Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates.

• Attend kick-off and design review meetings, and interacts with clients as necessary.

• Occasional travel for project related tasks.

• BS in Civil Engineering (MS preferred) from an accredited university with an emphasis in site design or land development is required

• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) is required

• Minimum 5 years' experience in sitework design, utility design / coordination and land development is required

• Expertise in civil site work, government, commercial and corporate campus design including layout, grading, water distribution, sanitary sewer, drainage, and paving.

• Experienced in working with inter-related engineering disciplines.

• Write and / or alter project specifications.

• Exercise sound judgment in the evaluation, selection and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria within the discipline.

• Ability to work on several projects concurrently.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and technical writing skills.

• Efficiently utilize time in executing assigned tasks accurately and on time.

• Working knowledge of CAD Systems - MicroStation and AutoCAD.

• Proficient in CAD software packages - InRoads and Civil 3D.

• Knowledge of green infrastructure and sustainable design techniques as they relate to Sitework and Stormwater Mangement.
