My Client, an Oil and Gas Consultancy based in Surrey, are currently looking for a Structural Engineer for a FEED project. Candidates should have a degree in Civil or Structural engineering, and be a Chartered Engineer with experience in offshore structural engineering for oil and gas facilities.
Structural analysis of jackets, topsides, bridges and subsea structures, design of substructure and secondary steelwork, platform designs for low installation cost, platform modifications for satellite field tie-backs including retrofitting of hard risers, design and installation of subsea structures, understanding of offshore geotechnical design including steel piled foundations
Feasibility and concept level structural design and weight estimates for new build offshore platforms and subsea structures, FEED level structural design and weight estimates for brown field modifications, Concept level cost estimates for fabrication and installation.
Feasibility of additions to existing offshore structures working interactively with piping and layout
Developing work plans and budgets for proposals and execution
Travel to client offices and occasional site visits including offshore facilities
Ability to work in a multi-discipline team to develop solutions focussed on client objectives
Long term interest in developing an offshore structural engineering consultancy team and business
Enthusiasm for structural engineering and willingness to explain key issues to non-experts
Good meeting, presentation and written reporting skills.
