Job Overview:

CB&I currently has an opening for a Business Development Professional / Sr. Client Services Manager based in Houston, TX. This position is responsible for leading client relationship management and business development efforts for our growing Program and Construction Management (PMCM) Business Line in Houston and Harris County, and other select municipalities in Texas and across the Gulf Southeast. The successful candidate will identify potential clients and new opportunities in Transportation, Water/Wastewater, Disaster Recovery, Resiliency and other sectors/areas of interest to the company. The successful candidate will develop effective win strategies for targeted opportunities and be able to close new work and increase regional sales. Established client and industry network in Houston and Harris County is a must. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Other duties may be assigned.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Develops and maintains long-lasting and meaningful relationships with public agency and private sector clients as well as industry teaming partners; collaborating to find solutions to challenging transportation, water/wastewater and infrastructure projects and organizational issues.
  • Manages regional marketing, sales of large multi-million dollar projects/programs, teaming partnerships and client engagement activities to implement business development initiatives.
  • Monitors market conditions, innovations and trends, and competitors' performance, and develops pricing and sales strategies to maximize competitive stance
  • Lead capture teams in pursuit planning; development of win themes; and preparation of compelling proposals, presentations, and marketing materials.
  • Leads company capabilities presentations with customers; attend technical seminars and industry events.
  • Assist National Business Development Director and Operations Lead with developing local resources and client relationships
  • Participation in industry and client organizations as a strategic part of client development
  • Support preparation for orals/interviews, key presentations, and proposals
  • Work with Operations and Project staff to enhance the company's client relationships across Operations and Project staffing levels
  • Maintain client contacts and opportunities in the CRM and SharePoint systems
  • Track goals and produce internal reports, as needed
  • Develop internal and external client relationships through face to face meetings
  • Familiar with a variety of PMCM's concepts, business models, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills expected
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Travel as necessary to perform duties
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must have proven track record of selling Engineering and Program/Construction Management services.
  • Must have 15+ years of industry experience.
  • Must have 5+ years of Business Development experience, selling directly in the Houston market
  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business, Finance, Marketing or similar field.
  • Must be result oriented and hands-on; able to work independently and in a team setting
  • Provides new opportunity capture management
  • Has accountability for managing financial resources
  • Provides technical guidance to employees
  • Develops processes and procedures to implement functional strategies
  • Has in-depth expertise in own discipline and knowledge of the related disciplines
  • Anticipates and interprets customer needs to identify solutions
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or Marketing.
  • Professional Engineering License or Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
  • 10+ years of Business Development experience in the Houston market
  • Leadership position(s) in professional/industry association committees, boards, etc.
