Define, document, and oversee "Best" practices for test cell instrumentation calibration at the dynamometer lab to include calibration intervals and tolerances

Determine measurement uncertainty and conduct measurement system analyses for dynamometer test cell instrumentation

Define requirements for calibration reports and documentation storage

Provide training and training materials for all instrumentation technicians

Reduce the variety of measurement instruments currently in use at the lab in order to simplify support requirements

Consult with Dynamometer Test Engineering, requesting activities, and industrial resources to define "Best" practices and hardware for new instrumentation

Take a lead role in a comprehensive review and update of the dynamometer laboratory quality operating system
Minimum 2 YRS college working towards or completed Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (EE/ME); 2 YRS related work experience or any equivalent combination
Experience with data acquisition and measurement systems
Experience with bench and in-situ calibration methods
In-depth experience with laboratory quality control methods
Working knowledge of internal combustion engines and engine controls
Good interpersonal, computer, oral and written skills. Strong technical leadership, organization, and teamwork
Experience with data acquisition and control systems
Experience with testing instrumentation and calibration equipment

Experience with MCXI, VXI, Visual Basic, C++, LabView, and Linux

Essential Functions
Physical Requirements
Lifting test equipment and testing components, up to 25 lbs - 25%
Sitting (75%), standing (50%), bending (25%), stooping (25%)
Safety glasses, gloves, hardened toe slip resistant shoes, long pants, short sleeve shirts- 100%
Engine high noise level while running in the test cell, the employees are not exposed to engine speeds over idle while in the cell.

Inside test facility 100%
Hot temperatures generated by engines. Cold start tests, the engine can be soaked to -20F, 50%
Rotating equipment, engines, hot exhaust, trip hazards, 100%

Equipment and Machines
Computers, DMM, 75%

Dayshift, but must be able to support flexible test schedule into other shifts and/or weekends - 100%
8 hours per day Monday thru Friday
Critical for employee to be there on time on a regular basis
Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, Monday-Friday. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important, but not critical, except for deadlines and meetings. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines. Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements.

Other Essential Functions
Must complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, health performance evaluation, and background check. Must have a valid driver's license.
Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers. Must have
clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English. both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must no impose a safety risk to self or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Dependable personal transportation to work site is required.
