Job Description:

Qualifies for Technician (multi-media) III and proven intermediate competence in web scripting (html, CSS, Javascript, Actionscript, XML or similar) (management of design elements, styles and navigation through scripting) and interactive authoring applications (Adobe Director, Flash, Flex, DVD Studio Pro or similar) (independent authoring of disc and web based applications interactive applications based on general guidance from customer or supervisor). A basic understanding of video Codecs, compression and optimization techniques. Experience in project management, leading a collaborative team of developers, video editors, and artists. Works independently and is responsible for conceptual development and visual design of technical videos and information materials such as technical brochures or data sheets, design and layout, pre-press preparation, newsletter and artist conceptions and renderings of technical visual projects. Serves as primary point of contact for visual projects including advanced video editing/processing, multimedia/web development, 3D modeling and animation or a combination of the three. Works directly with customers to develop concepts, determine the appropriate applications, prepare flow charts, storyboards and goals which meet their needs; and/or oversees the collection and creation of assets necessary to the completion of a project; including coordinating with video editors, multimedia developers, scriptwriters, photographers and graphic artists to insure high quality and the timely completion of a project. May author interactive disc and web based training and informational presentations, independently managing authoring application choice, planning, development (including scripting), collaboration with other developers and artists and testing/debugging.

For Technician III (Computer Cabling/Networks), must possess a training certificate that would document their professional training in the area of fiber cable termination practices.

5 yrs. applicable experience; or at least 60 credit hours or an Associate's Degree and 3 yrs. applicable experience; or 30 credit hours and 4 yrs. applicable experience; or completion of a formal training program and 3 yrs. applicable experience; or a Bachelor's Degree and 1 yr. applicable experience.

Essential Functions Form:


Requires sitting at a computer for an extended amount of time (up to 85%) The ability to bend/stoop, squat, crawl, reach above shoulder level, crouch, kneel, balance, push/pull and climb into or under a vehicle is required (up to 15%). Walking a minimum of 50 yards over rough terrain is required (up to 15%). Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds (up to 15%).


Work environment may be inside or outside depending on the task. The ability to work in outside field conditions that include hot and cold extreme temperatures and other outdoor climatic conditions is required (up to 15%). Must be able to work in areas where only portable restroom facilities are available (up to 15%). Work environment may be fast-paced and require work under pressure to meet deadlines associated with the completion of a task. Position will require multiple task efforts.


Graphics, Video Imaging and Web Development requires the use of software such as Final Cut Pro or equivalent, DreamWeaver, Java, Flash, Flex, Adobe Suite, Adobe After Effects, Acrobat, QuickTime, Motion and 3D modeling software or similar programs. Operates peripherals such as video recorders, external hard drives, compact flash cards, scanners, printers, and related equipment. Also operates compact disc duplicators, label makers and color laser printers in the assembly and production of the final product. Use of copiers (up to 10%), printer (up to 20%), and computer (up to 85%). The ability to work around moving machinery/equipment is required.


Attendance is critical at all times during normal duty hours. Work outside of normal duty hours, including weekends and holidays, may be required with as little as one-hour advance notice.

Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to obtain an interim secret security clearance in order to gain access to required areas, networks and systems within thirty (30) days of date of your offer letter. Must be able to obtain and retain a secret security clearance. Must be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship. Must be able to obtain and retain unescorted access to work areas. May be subject to other physicals or exams if required to wear a respirator or are designated by the COR to have other physicals due to the work area in which you are assigned. May be subject to exposure to noise and vibration. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as required. Must have a valid driver's license and personal transportation for the purpose of moving around the proving ground to accomplish job functions and in order to operate a rental vehicle if and when travel is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a military driver's license within 30 days of employment.
