In this position you will be working within the European Emobility team, based in London.

The UK E-mobility team is an addition to the Vattenfall business in the UK which has already been locally active for 10 years and owns and operates significant wind, solar and storage assets within the UK.
The E-Mobility market is a growth sector in the UK with EV sales increasing rapidly within the new vehicles market. This position is a new hire to help strengthen the team within the UK and will form a key and influential part of the E-Mobility unit for Vattenfall.

Key objectives of the Emobility unit include:
  • Grow the business of electric vehicle charging solutions, focusing on creating superior customer value
  • Create clear profile towards customers through distinguishing charging products and services
  • Have industry leading levels of customer satisfaction
  • Become one of the key players within the UK market

Vattenfall is now looking for a Senior Business Development Managerfor the UK Market.

In this position you will be working within the European Business Unit for Emobility, spanning London, Berlin, Amsterdam and Stockholm. Our growth unit is responsible for Vattenfall's Emobility business in Europe.

You will be based in the London office with the UK team, but will be flexible requiring frequent travel to job sites, and therefore a driving license is a requirement.


Main tasks & responsibilities


You will be responsible for the acquisition, development and maintenance of long-term relationships with a portfolio of accounts. The goal is to increase our market share by building a B2B sales funnel and consequently signing and closing of commercial contracts. Your primary focus is the B2B-segment. We distinguish several sales-channels:

  • Cross-selling to existing Vattenfall relations;
  • Pro-actively acquire and utilize new accounts, and proactively seek opportunities for cross-selling
  • Recruiting new customers (mainly in the area of fleet owners, real-estate owners and large UK Businesses)
  • Developing new business opportunities from first concepts through to signing and implementation
  • Senior relationship management within OEMs in the industry
  • Discuss and negotiate terms of reference, price agreements and prepare contracts based on the negotiated terms of reference and agreed price agreements
  • Report to the Country Director on overall sales strategy and achievements
  • Leading ongoing relations with government and industry bodies
  • Influencing government policy by contributing to industry think tanks etc
  • Coordinating and negotiating largest public and OEM tenders
  • Leading the team by inspiring and educating with industry knowledge, contacts and experience

You will report to the director of E-mobility Sales & Operations UK. Your local base will be in London. We expect you to travel regularly to (potential) customers.

Commercial Skills & Business Acumen

The ideal candidate is highly motivated to create the best value for our customers, to cooperate in a high performance organisation and to play a vital part in shaping the future. We expect you to have:
  • A strong sales, marketing, and business development orientation. You are able to drive the business and to deliver pragmatic solutions.
  • The ability to act self-driven and intrinsically motivated to deliver
  • A strong local British experience, preferably in a comparable B2B environment (EV-infrastructure/hardware/driving solutions)
  • Experience in creating and justifying basic business cases
  • A mature, relevant professional network, build during at least 10 years of working experience. You act according to our leadership values: clear, visible and courageous.

As a person you are customer focused, have sales skills and have a result oriented business mindset. You are a team player who can motivate and inspire others.

You have a relevant university degree and communicate naturally in English, both verbally and written.

Location
The position is based in Blackfriars, London. The job will require some international travel.
