This position performs work requiring advanced knowledge which is predominantly intellectual in
character and which routinely exercises discretion and judgment. The advanced knowledge is in a field
of science or learning and gained through a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction,
experience, and expertise acquired in the field.
The purpose of this position is to provide Process Technology engineering and technical support for
intermediate systems with moderate complexity.
Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform broad range of process engineering technology assignments
• Plan and conduct work in evaluation, selection and application of standard process engineering
techniques, procedures and criteria
• Periodically review work of others to assure overall quality of process designs
• Contact and consult with other engineering disciplines within the Company in addition to
process engineers and supervisors
• Understand and follow the effort-hours budget and process schedule
• Support execution of the Quality Plan to ensure that work product meets defined requirement
and standards, as needed
• Contribute value awareness concepts to Process Design to positively impact project economics
• Document design basis information in regard to Process Design Basis (PDB)
• Perform process studies for more complex systems
• Develop Heat and Material Balance (H&MB) for process units
• Review mechanical input in regard to equipment data sheets and equipment lists
• Prepare initial Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) for more complex systems; interface
with other disciplines
• Check calculations of others; perform calculations for complex systems
• Evaluate upset conditions on piping line list; prepare overall approach to safeguarding
• Participate in bid tab evaluations for simple equipment; check vendor data for complex
• Prepare more complicated sections of the operating manual
• Work with environmental specialist or group to define environmental requirements and/or
define consequences/blast/dispersion modeling
• Participate in plot plan review and Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) reviews in regard to plant
safety/operability; perform relief valve calculations for complex services; assist with
development of turnover packages
• Support work sharing activities to leverage core competencies and to enhance commercial
• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying
complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
• Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely
manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines
• Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff
• Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards
• Adhere to and support Fluor\u0027s Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
• Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the job
• May need to travel to attend to business related matters
• Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements:
At least 6 years of work related experience in Oil and Gas industries or relevant industry experience.
BS Chemical Engineering or equivalent

At least 2 years of supervisory experience of a small team (2-3 members)

Software Knowledge and Experience:
Knowledgeable in any (or more) of the following simulation and calculation tools is a plus.
- ASPEN Plus
- Flarenet
- Fathom (for complex piping network calculation)
