Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently searching for a Business Development Manager for its Intelligent Operations group to be seated in our Houston, TX office . This highly visible position will be instrumental in driving and developing new business, and will report directly to the Director of Global Business Development .

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, and have a strong solution-selling background in the O il &G as or Petroche mical industries. Th is is an excellent opportunity to represent a leading global organization , with a solid reputation for providing high quality innovative solutions .

  • Identification, development and successful capture of sales opportunities in IO's targeted markets
  • Supports Sr. Management in the development of plans for growing and managing major accounts, and engages/liaises with the global BD team members in executing strategy
  • Front-line for Market Intelligence: Learns and communicates information pertinent to growing respective Service Lines
    • Market information (anything that could indicate opportunity or threat)
    • Changes in business environment and in Target Accounts
    • Near term and future opportunities with Target Accounts
    • Specific opportunity related information from contacts made
  • Administers, develops and grows company's business activities and revenue from new and existing clients, segments and channels
  • Works closely with all departments to understand business requirements and market needs
  • Recognizes new market segments and opportunities for new business generation
  • Supports preparation of proposals and assists the Bid/ Proposal Manager on Strategic Sales Objectives ensuring approved processes are followed
  • Presents proposal in discussion format, identifying any client concerns, and establishing resolution
  • Lead and/or assist in closing sale/executing contract and handover to Operations

Skills / Qualifications
  • BS degree in Engineering (or related discipline), advanced degree(s) a plus
  • 5-10 yrs relevant experience in the target market, involving selling and/or delivering software and technical solutions
  • Background in process simulations and/or process automation systems is a plus
  • Must possess or be capable of developing a network of mid- and senior level client contacts, and key decision makers in the desired geographies and markets
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) in English, and oral delivery in one-on-one and group meetings is essential. Additional languages a strong asset
  • Must be organized and able to establish priorities, produce strategic planning documents, reports, and correspondence
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships, identify opportunities and account management skills are critical
