In particular, your role will focus on participating in and reviewing structural engineering design and analysis activities in the Heavy Industrial Facilities functional team. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience. At Dillon, we work as one team. Responsibilities What your day will look likeStructural design and analysis of bridges, buildings, industrial projects and marine structuresManagement of structural engineering projects and development of cost-effective design solutionsCollaboration with multidisciplinary project teams including transportation, municipal and structural engineers, transportation systems planners, land use planners, environmental scientists and technical support staffPreparation of proposals, design criteria, preliminary designs, detailed engineering specifications, and reportsTechnical guidance and mentoring of project team members including engineers and technical support staffLiaison with clients, government and regulatory authorities, and contractorsDevelopment and enhancement of client relationships and business growthBusiness travel upon request Qualifications What you will need to succeedA degree in civil engineering with technical electives in structural engineering topics. A graduate level degree with a focus in structural engineering is considered an assetA license in good standing to practice as a professional engineer in the province of New Brunswick or Nova ScotiaTen (10) Fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience Experience Demonstrated success in the leadership of structural project teams and the management of structural engineering projectsExperience in the structural design of bridges and transportation structures or in the structural design of industrial and commercial buildings and liquid-retaining structuresKnowledge of relevant structural engineering codes and standardsFamiliarity with structural analysis and design software such as STAAD or PCA software, as well as proficiency in current AutoCAD and building systems software is desirableExperience in:wharf structures, bridge design and project managementconstruction contract administration would be an assetheavy industrial including mining or manufacturing projects would be an assetbuilding and facilities for government, real estate and resource projects would be an assetStrong interpersonal, communications, organization and time management skillsWhy choose DillonDillon is powered by people who are technically proficient, passionate about socially important projects, and motivated to deliver superior, tangible results.
