Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Electro-Mechanical

Location: Buckinghamshire

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000



Platform Recruitment is partnering with a leading company specialising in the design, manufacture, and distribution of scientific electro-mechanical instruments. As part of their growth strategy, they are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in product development, precision mechanism design, and 3D CAD.



This is an exciting opportunity to lead product development from concept to launch, working on cutting-edge electro-mechanical technologies in a fast-paced, innovative environment.



Key Responsibilities:

+ Develop conceptual designs for next- products

+ Apply blue sky thinking to drive innovation

+ Utilise 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) for precision design

+ Prototype and test designs for performance validation

+ Design precision mechanisms for electro-mechanical systems

+ Oversee product development from concept to manufacturing

+ Mentor and support junior engineers



Key Requirements:

+ Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Product Design, or related field) or equivalent experience

+ Strong expertise in 3D CAD design (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)

+ Creativity and a passion for innovation & blue sky thinking

+ Proven experience in precision mechanism design

+ Knowledge of various manufacturing processes, including injection moulding

+ Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing

+ Experience in electro-mechanical product design (highly desirable)
