The Power Systems PLM Software Architect for Security will be a highly visible role within the Digital Thread initiative and Digital Engineering. The individual who fills this position will be assist in the moving the Digital Engineering Power Generation PLM application into its next generation.

Essential Responsibilities

The Software Architect will be working with business and functional leaders, stakeholders, security and compliance representatives, and other IT architects to define, guide, and design solutions for the new PowerPLM environment. This environment is evolving with emerging technologies utilized for engineering and manufacturing processes that will be right in the middle of the Digital Thread horizontal. The Next Generation PowerPLM environment will be combining data and processes from Gas Power, Steam Power, Aero, ex-Alstom, and the Services organizations, and will be interacting with Commercial, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Services. This will be a challenging, but highly rewarding role which will allow for defining the security and compliance model for the PLM system of the future.

The candidate for this role should be an experienced in PLM and software development technologies. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of both PLM and security and compliance, but emphasis will be in finding a candidate with a focus on understanding the technical aspects of PLM and software development. The candidate will need to work with people from multiple organizations including the business representatives, trade control, security and compliance, and PLM architecture and development. This will be the lead role for security and compliance in the PLM space for Power Generation PLM, and will guide our security and compliance processes for the existing systems, and the systems of the future.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead and coordinate the domain technical and business discussions relative to security and compliance architecture for PLM
  • Analyze, design and develop a roadmap and implementation plan based upon a current vs. future state of security and compliance
  • Develop a security and compliance team, as well as plan for implementation of guiding principles for security and compliance across PLM
  • Contribute to the development of software and data delivery platforms that are service-oriented with reusable components across teams (multiple teams) that can be orchestrated together into different methods for different businesses
  • Lead the research and evaluation of emerging security and compliance technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support activities to for multiple teams or complex scenarios
  • Provide leadership, technology guidance and mentors others throughout the domain
  • Act as a change agent for business processes, working directly with business partners to ensure new processes are communicated seamlessly and provide improvements to overall program execution and delivery
  • Leverage Agile skillset to drive additional Agile methodology into major PLM releases
  • Drive diverse groups to make Key Design Decisions and agree on to-be processes for PLM implementation
  • Work with different teams to understand requirements, reconcile conflicts and decompose high-level information into details and vice versa
  • Drive and challenge PLM businesses on their assumptions on the design requests for PLM to drive out of the box solutions


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • A minimum of 12 years of technical experience along with established leadership credentials across disciplines and functions within a product OR Master's degree with 8 years of experience OR PhD with 5 years of experience

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge of Enovia PLM Platform
  • Experience with Siemens TeamCenter or Dassault Enovia, Delmia, Catia, RFLP, Exalead
  • Experience and certifications with security and compliance for Enterprise Applications.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies
  • Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems
