Technical Support Engineering
The Technical Support Technician is a part of the Technical Support/Production Engineering Department that provides engineering to support and improve processes in the manufacturing of carbon composite turbine blades for ongoing and new operations.


  • Owner of Technical Support processes within assigned production area
  • Ensures that production processes may be conducted safely
  • Works closely with Production staff to ensure that the production plan is met
  • Conducts basic analysis of process performance metrics and takes action to increase process capability
  • Assists with the troubleshooting of process problems and implements solutions which reduce downtime and minimize maintenance costs
  • Monitors process equipment performance to identify potential errors and implements solutions to eliminate reoccurrence of those problems
  • Facilitator or co-facilitator of process improvement projects
  • Participation in technology transfer projects, new process introduction, and production capacity expansions
  • Updating and auditing Bill of Material for assigned process area
  • Responsible for creation, validation, and maintenance of Production Work Instructions
  • Develops and updates process procedures to ensure that documentation is accurate and understandable
  • Provides technical support to the factory's production and logistics functions concerning product documentation
  • Interfaces with all levels of management and employees to gather information and provide guidance for implementation
  • Develops and updates first and second line maintenance on equipment
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with one year of wind turbine blade manufacturing experience; or three years wind turbine blade manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of Internet software; Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Experience in a Manufacturing organization
  • Experience composing work instructions
  • Experience formulating and processing engineering change requests
  • Understanding of 'lean' principles preferred

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
