Specific responsibilities could include but are not limited to the following:
• Serve as the Safety Coordinator and communicate with other TG HSE Representatives in the Detroit areas offices and operations sites.
• Provide support the Commercial Operations Management Team and the TG HSE Manager in effective implementation of safety system processes and BZ Culture.
• Conduct safety training at our operations and maintenance sites in accordance to regulatory and Jacobs requirements to maintain a skilled and compliant workforce.
• Perform safety inspections and audits to evaluate culture and identify areas of improvement
• Work with operations sites to facilitate safety improvements and to evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions taken
• Conduct incident investigations to determine the root cause and support development and ensure implementation of corrective actions.
• Maintain safety records for sites/offices for which responsibility has been given and perform trend analysis on safety metrics.
• Serve as liaison with external parties (outside vendors) on matters relating to safety
• Participate and provide input to the sites for all hands meetings
• Maintain and order safety equipment
• Coordinate pick-up of hazardous materials
Requires two (2) years of college with courses in Safety, Engineering or other technical field or at least four (4) years of relevant experience. Experience in safety program implementation and oversight, and/or facilities operations and maintenance is required.

Essential Functions

Will need to wear appropriate PPE (e.g.., steel toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.) when working at a lab, construction site, or operations/maintenance site - 80%

Sitting (50%), Standing (50%), Bending (25%), Stooping (25%)

Work Environment

This job will involve work in both an office environment and at operations sites. It is estimated that approximately 20% of work will be performed in an office environment and the remainder at a project or site location.

Observation of or participation in activities performed at our operations and maintenance sites will sometimes be required in order to develop an in-depth understanding of work processes, hazards, etc.

This job will require frequent travel to site locations in the Detroit area and occasional trips to support offices/sites in other areas. Trips outside of the Detroit area are estimated to occur approximately 4 times per year and will typically be 2 to 3 day trips.

Equipment and Machines

Job will require use of a computer and associated software (e.g., Word, Excel, Visio, PoerPoint) and other standard office equipment (e.g., copier, scanner)- 20%


Typical Monday through Friday work week with core business hours of 7:30 to 5:00 pm. However, some work may be performed off shift as needed. Regular attendance and punctuality is a must.

Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, Monday-Friday. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important, but not critical, except for deadlines and meetings. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines. Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements.

Other Essential Functions

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, Background check, and Health Performance Evaluation. Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers. management and co-workers. Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position

and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Independent personal transportation to office or work site is required. Travel to and from customer's locations and the test fields may be required to support projects. This may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can possibly be made for POV, if necessary. When operating any vehicle for work purposes, must wear seat belt and in addition, no cellular devices are to be used when vehicle is in motion.
