To provide technical support for the NAWCWD Targeting Systems Lab. Work involves the deployment, test, installation, scanning, hardening, patching and modernization of RDTE targeting lab customer PC and server systems.
The support technician will resolve a variety of complex operating problems and respond to computer indicators and error condition as needed to avoid loss of information and to conserve computer resources. The technician will spend considerable time away from servers and provide technical assistance to lower level technicians and assist programmers, systems analysts, and subject matter specialists as needed to resolve system problems. Tasks performed will include maintenance and teardown for various PC systems, systems test, systems patching, Systems Scanning, cable and plant installation as well as the upgrade and modernization of RDTE PC and server systems.Associates Degree in Computer Science, Electronics or Technical School graduate with 6+ years of direct experience providing Help Desk Services and/or Navy computer Lab support services is desired. Candidate will possess "Hands-On" experience installing and repairing desktop PCs and/or servers using Windows seven/XP , server 2008 /20012 and Linux. Also required are excellent written and oral communications skills with a proven history of working in a progressive IPT environment.

U.S. Citizenship and must possess a Secret U.S. DoD Security Clearance. Compliance with DoD 8570 is required. Candidate must possess certification in Microsoft Seven/Server 2008/2012 and COMPTIA Security+.

Criticality of Attendance

• Normal hours are Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 5:00pm, non-flex Fridays 7:00am to 4:00pm

• Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines

• Regular attendance is necessary and required

• Must be able to communicate effectively

• Current driver's license, car registration and auto insurance required

• Must possess required certifications for 8570 compliance.
