At Jacobs we provide the resources to turn great ideas into reality, and we're looking for the most talented and passionate individuals out there to be our next generation of leaders.

We currently have an opportunity for a Systems Engineer within our technical services team based in Barrow-in-Furness. The successful person will become part of a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects and international opportunities.

The successful candidate will work within a small team embedded in a large MOD supplier's organisation to support the development of interfaces between the next generation ballistic missile nuclear powered submarine and the shore. These interfaces include electrical services, mechanical supplies, waste streams, and naval architecture amongst others. This role requires developing collaborative relationships with various platform designers to ensure they are fully informed of shore system constraints, and that relevant shore information is considered in the platform design. Information is managed via interface and requirements documentation.

Applicants will have knowledge and experience of delivering submarine engineering and/or support operations having either served in the Royal Navy or been in direct support thereof. Applicants will also be a member of or chartered with a professional engineering institution. The ability to develop relationships and manage multiple stakeholder groups is essential to deliver this role. Knowledge and experience of submarine systems is essential, and nuclear power generation, MOD/commercial design/procurement systems as well as requirements management is highly desirable. The role is currently part-time but full-time employment is a possibility.

JACOBS is an Equal Opportunity Employer who is committed to the safety and well being of all.
