Role synopsis
NEXCEL has the potential to change the way in which lubricants are delivered, used and collected in the car market through the creation of a 'precision lubrication system', and offers significant efficiency, financial and environmental benefits to the industry. The heart of the precision lubrication system is a patented hardware system akin to an ink jet cartridge (oil cell) which leverages Castrol's lubricant expertise and opens new and disruptive opportunities.

A dedicated team has been created to function as a stand-alone business that will manufacture, and supply oil cells to the market which will result in improved powertrain efficiency, improved serviceability and substantial environmental benefits. The market entry for this technology is through the original equipment manufacturers of the automotive and industrial market.

This role is an essential part of the programme team, with two main areas of responsibility:
  • Site management of the dedicated NEXCEL premises, and support of the staff within.
  • Project management of tasks within the programme and quality areas of the team.

Under site/ facilities management responsibilities:
  • Operating & maintaining the Reading facility
  • Manage P2P process
  • Organising contracts, negotiating prices etc for all facilities-related matters
  • Managing building works on site ad any method statement requests coming with any changes required to the site
Under project management:
  • Getting ISO accreditation - a critical part to the success of the programme.
  • NPI process set up (new product induction) - this role will work closely with NEXCEL Programme managers to roll out the NPI for the NEXCEL units
  • Further project management of the facilities renovation & building works - we have 6 months projection of setting up the production lines, storage etc.
Additionally this role will be expected to cover Admin support for the NEXCEL LT (meeting arrangements, travel).

The candidate should be prepared to get involved in all aspects of the business, and a strong preference will be given to a candidate who has a background in Automotive.

Key accountabilities
This role is varied with key accountabilities of:
  • Site management of the NEXCEL premises, including management of Site Maintenance, Invoice process and approval
  • Support of the Implementation manager in the set-up of the ISO 9001 set up.
  • Project manage the site facilities including Building Works.
  • Maintenance of all HSSE requirements of the activities for the site
  • Support of the Programme manager in the development of the NPI Process for NEXCEL: Design the process with the Function Leaders, develop the MS Project Plans and Process Maps and all the required templates for the various gateways
  • Facilitate weekly project, team and operational meetings
  • development and administration of the data management (SharePoint) for the NEXCEL Team
  • Event management: Organisation and Co-ordination of internal team events
  • Administrative support: organisation of travel for NEXCEL LT (excluding NEXCEL GM); organisation & coordination of team meetings.
  • Part of a small core team who will be responsible for driving the development agenda.


Essential Education
Ability to manage complex projects to completion through fit-for-purpose project management techniques
