Health and Safety Manager
An established convenience retailer is currently seeking a Health and Safety Manager. Based out of Portsmouth with responsibility for operations throughout the Southern region, you will lead on health & safety and compliance issues across the organisation, managing and developing the H&S management system in addition to working with operational teams to develop a positive safety culture.
The business is made up of over 200 stores with 4000 employees; therefore a background within a multi-site role would be advantageous. They are looking for a someone who works collaboratively, enable change and can develop effective relationships at all levels of an organisation
Provide H&S support, guidance and training across the business
Manage the H&S management system and suggest improvements to this
Develop a positive H&S culture within the organisation, engaging operational teams so they can take ownership of H&S in their business area
Manage relationships with external enforcement bodies e.g. Primary Authority
Manage all licencing requirements e.g. alcohol licences to ensure legal compliance.
Qualified to NEBOSH Certificate level as a minimum
Experience within a multi-site role, preferably within retail or a similar sector
Commercially aware and solutions focused
Excellent communicator, able to engage with stakeholders
