Drafting Coordinator - Houston, TX

  • Minimum 4 years drafting experience
  • Degree in Design/Drafting or relevant subject

  • Accountable for the management of all technical drawings within the organization
  • Conducts drawing reviews and ensures compliance with company drafting standards and specifications
  • Ensures accuracy, completeness of documentation and adherence to applicable company standards
  • Accountable for drawing and document tracking and archiving procedures
  • Provides training and orientation related to company drafting standards to external service providers
  • Works with field personnel and Engineers to ensure that changes have been properly incorporated into all affected drawings - Support project proposals and participates in design scoping meetings and kick-off meetings with third party providers
  • Makes decisions using established guidelines, procedures and or policies. May be tasked with validating and analyzing suggested approaches to medium complexity issues from junior level coordinators
  • Participate as a liaison between the internal drafting resources, external service providers and company's Project Managers and Engineers
  • Involved in standard and moderately complex technical assignments which require considerable technical expertise
  • Collaborates with Design Oversight Team in preparing preliminary layout, process flow diagram (PFD) and/or piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID)
  • May participate in development of new procedures and improvement of existing practices
  • Review drafting requirements and expectations
  • Review drawings and verify that they conform with the company and project drafting standards
  • Provide required documents to project engineer or coordinator for reference in the design basis memorandum (DBM)
  • Check CAD files into the FileNet Working Library
  • Verify drawings are correctly loaded into the FileNet Engineering and Working Libraries
  • Advise the project engineer or coordinator when libraries are up-to-date and complete
