Role description: We have a new and exciting role at Innogy Renewables to support our Technical Performance Management team across the Onshore wind fleet, through applying the combination of knowledge and experience with the analysis of operational data to increase income, inform business decisions, and facilitate new or improved tools and systems, throughout the wider Onshore department here in Swindon. The primary role is to act as a performance expert and identify any areas requiring optimisation.

Main Purpose of Job: You will be responsible for Wind Performance Optimisation

You are required to drive continuous improvement of wind farm operations across Europe in order to deliver effective pre-emptive maintenance which increases production and income. You will be Identifying and reporting operational issues affecting wind farm performance such that their root causes can be determined and that the issues can be prioritised and resolved promptly. This role is responsible for capturing common issues amongst similar technology and facilitating the sharing of such information across the European portfolio via the leadership of Technical Performance Reviews. The above is done both as a routine process and for specific contractual milestones and should help spawn Technical Improvement Initiatives.

You will be required to develop new tools and processes to facilitate efficient analysis by the TPM team along with development of tools to allow first level analysis by the wider O&M team including the Control Rooms, site managers and operations engineers. We are seeking Innovation and development of analytical methods for measuring and optimising wind farm performance. We will expect coding of software tools to apply these analytical methods and deliver efficient measurement and optimisation of wind farm performance.

You will need to demonstrate technical leadership and investigative analysis to support Commercial Asset Management and Operations and Maintenance with the evaluation of insurance claims, transmission charges, Root Cause Analyses and other ad hoc requests not associated with daily operational performance. Where the task is unique, the role is responsible for generating a methodology suitable to handle similar events in the future. The role is also responsible for contributing technical support during contract meetings with site maintainers, as well as during meetings with investor representatives.

Knowledge & Skills required: University degree in scientific, physics, engineering and/or mathematical studies.

Technical leadership and management of a team

Project management and leadership is a must

Strong technical analytical skills

Knowledge of turbine engineering and wind energy conversion (Senior).

Knowledge of wind farm operations and wind farm SCADA systems (Senior).

Good written and oral communications skills

Good ability to self-manage a multitude of tasks and work independently, when required

Good team working skills

Willingness to travel frequently (both domestic and international)

Ability to maintain high levels of drive and energy.

Ability to create pro-actively synergies.
