The ABB Global Business Services - Information Systems organization (GBS IS) is a unique unit delivering IT application development and IT infrastructure services which support business processes of ABB across the world. Everyday a team of talented developers, infrastructure experts, project managers, service managers and other specialists work on advanced IT solutions which improve the efficiency of our company and enable new business capabilities. Currently we are setting-up a new "IS Innovation Organisation" (so-called IS Incubators) to explore and drive to maturity new IT technology. IS Incubators have a clear goal to achieve results fast but are flexible and agile in terms of structure, delivery, internal processes and sourcing They evaluate technologies and concepts, learn and adapt when it doesn't immediately work out as expected. Plan, build and run will be driven within an IS Incubator for agility, rapid prototyping, short time-to-market and, not at least, prove business value, until the concept reaches minimum maturity level so it can be handed over to the regular ABB IS delivery organization. The abovementioned activities will be performed in close collaboration with Enterprise Architecture to ensure that all IT application components fit together from a technical and business perspective and that the company takes advantage of new technology developments. To set up those incubators we are looking for IS Technology Leaders - self-driven, motivated candidates who will take overall responsibility for driving innovation in advanced analytics, business intelligence and cognitive computing area. , build and manage team of experts and contribute to defining and transforming IS landscape in ABB. The main objective of this position is to lead the global setup, implementation and roll-out of the big data, advanced analytics & data visualizations capabilities and services within ABB in close cooperation with ABB Digital, R&D, ABB business units and functional departments. Build-up and lead the data architecture, big data development, data science/data analyst delivery team and provide advanced analytics technical framework and services for ABB BU's and customers.

Tasks:
Advanced Analytics Strategy:
• Build out a coherent company-wide approach to advanced data analytics and lead a dedicated data analytics team;
• Develop the strategic roadmap of analytics capabilities and methods to enable growth through analytics across all BU's at ABB;
• Identify and enable best practices for applying these capabilities to drive business and customer outcomes;
• Define and validate complex primary datasets used to train and evaluate predictive models;
• Establish and employ measures, metrics, visualizations, and tools to evaluate statistical models;
• Understand the competitive marketplace, business issues, and data challenges to deliver actionable insights, recommendations and business processes;
• Work in a collaborative team environment with other highly skilled specialists in enterprise architecture, manufacturing, statistics, machine learning and technology;
• Research new modeling algorithms, languages, packages, and statistical tools to enhance the overall productivity of the team;
• Conduct research and analysis to identify new insights and visualization possibilities across data sets and makes recommendations on advanced analytics products, services, and standards.

Decision Analytics
• Establish enterprise-wide analytics solutions and capabilities across a wide variety of domains, such as sales, marketing, manufacturing, supply chain, operations, finance , customer behavior, experience, product etc.;
• Develop forecasting and simulation methods around the analytics domain;
• Develop the experimentation / test and learn framework for the various analytics domains;
• Develop and establish an analytics process applicable to multiple business applications.

Platform Analytics
• Champion ABB guest to leverage its vast amount of structured & unstructured data to:
o Optimize the total experience for our customers
o Maximize the value of our platform by driving growth, driving increased engagement and monetizing our installed base;
• Develop the strategic roadmap and lead a solution delivery team to deploy big data platform to integrated structured and unstructured data;
• Enhance predictive analytics/statistical modeling/data mining algorithm capabilities;
• Develop easy-to-use self-service analytics for use by ABB internal and external customers;
• Develop programmatic, data science based models to be consumed by the Customer, Material, Sales Data and Analytics Platform around topics such as personalization, targeting, algorithmic service excellence, quality management, and automated customer/material value optimization.

Analytics Visualization
• Define visualization strategies for analytic applications developed;
• Define tools and methods to develop and implement required advanced analytics to facilitate domain experts to interact with results of analytics.

Corporate Research & ABB ability
• Nurture strong collaboration with Corporate research and ABB Ability team to deliver advance analytics capabilities to provide total experience to ABB customers/products;
• Partner with Corporate Research & ABB ability division to develop advanced analytics capability strategy and implementation roadmap to drive business growth and memorable total experience with ABB customers.

Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
• Masters degree (preferably in a quantitative field such as math, statistics, physics, chemistry, engineering, economics, computer science, operations research); industrial analytics knowledge is highly desired, but not required;
• 15+ years of experience developing and applying various manufacturing and industrial analytics.

Preferred qualifications:
• Experience with current state-of-the-art big data analytic technologies and tools is required;
• Develop and mentor members of the Advanced Analytics and Data Science team;
• Build a talent roadmap to meet the needs of the business
Evolve the capabilities of the team as required to support the business;
• 10+ years of building and leading high performing teams;
• Knowledge of manufacturing and operations domains required;
• Strong business acumen, and superior written, verbal and presentation skills;
• Able to deliver near-term wins while building towards a larger strategic vision;
• Proficient in data access methods for large customer and transaction databases;
• Proficient in developing high quality, reusable, and scalable analytics supporting a wide variety of functions and business outcomes;
• Proficient with at least one language for data algorithms, such as R, Python;
• Proficient in data architecture, big data, real time analytics, real time data integration, analytics driven workflow tools etc.;
• Proficient with at least one big data platform Cloudera, Hortonworks, HDInsight;
• Proficient with at least one package for reporting/visualization of data, such as Microsoft R, SPARK , or Power BI;
• Educational training with machine learning/cognitive computing technologies.
