A growing renewable energy contractor is seeking Mechanical Installers at entry, intermediate, and lead levels to support solar PV installation work across Oahu. This hands-on role involves rooftop and ground-mounted system installation, material handling, basic electrical support tasks, and general site support in a fast-paced construction environment.

The Mechanical Installer will assist with racking assembly, module installation, wire pulling support, trenching, pull-box placement, and other field activities as needed. Lead-level candidates will also be responsible for reading plans, setting layouts, coordinating crew tasks, and supporting the superintendent in day-to-day field operations.

Responsibilities

• Carry tools, equipment, and materials around the jobsite, including rooftop areas.
• Use hand tools and jobsite equipment safely and effectively.
• Install roof penetrations, flashings, and solar racking systems.
• Assist with PV module installation and related mechanical assembly.
• Support electricians with wire pulling, cabling, trenching, and pull-box work.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company, state, and local safety requirements.
• For lead roles: read plans, lay out arrays, manage crew workflow, and communicate progress to supervision.

Qualifications

• Trade-related or construction experience preferred.
• Basic hand tools required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Able to follow directions and work safely in outdoor conditions.
• Punctual and dependable.
• Lead candidates should have prior solar crew leadership experience.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for island assignments.

Compensation and Benefits

• $22-$25/hour for candidates with little to no experience looking to get into a career in solar.
• $25-$32/hour for candidates that would like to further their career in the solar industry. Rate depends on experience.
• $35-$42/hour for Mechanical lead candidates, depending on experience.
