As part of the Australian Network Teamyou will be contributing directly to deliver robust, intelligent, and future-focused network solutions. Reporting to the Network Operations Leadyou will provide expert engineering assurance across both corporate and operational networks, ensuring a secure, high-performing, and adaptive digital infrastructure that underpins the safe and reliable operation of company's systems.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing expert technical direction, advice, and support across the full lifecycle of network systems, ensuring strategic alignment and operational excellence.

  • Translating business and customer needs into actionable project delivery plans, including High-Level Designs (HLD), Low-Level Designs (LLD), resource and hardware forecasts, project schedules, and change management strategies.

  • Leading and participating in project management activities—from scoping through planning and design—to enable successful external construction and deployment.

  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to project scope, timelines, budget, and governance requirements (including Risk, Compliance, MoC, and Operational Handover).

  • Monitoring and reporting on project status and performance to all relevant stakeholders.

  • Participating in and, when required, directly supporting hands-on network installations in onsite and offshore environments.

  • Collaborating with IT Operations to resolve escalated, business-critical network issues.

  • Contributing to post-incident reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Ensuring robust governance and service line health across the network portfolio.

  • Managing the performance of Digitals Managed IT Service Provider to uphold consistent quality in delivery, maintenance, and support.

  • Supporting the Network Architect in shaping network security architecture, strategies, roadmaps, and technical blueprints.

  • Mentoring and developing team capability in network security and engineering best practices.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated expertise in Network Security Architecture and System Integration, covering Routing, Switching, Wireless, Security, and Voice technologies.

  • Experience with Oil & Gas safety-critical systems, including IT, OT, and telecommunications.

  • Background in similar roles within Oil & Gasmining, or resource services industries.

  • Ability and willingness to travel to international, offshore, or remote sites as required.

  • Strong team collaboration skills, particularly within large, multi-disciplinary operational and project teams.

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

  • Proven ability to work independently and manage competing work scopes.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

 

Additional Requirements

As this is a site/asset-based role, candidates must meet at least one of the following:

  • Hold a valid Industry Safety Induction (Safer Together), or

  • Demonstrate a minimum of 12 months Oil & Gas industry experience within the last two years to qualify for an 'experienced worker' exemption.
