Senior and Junior Mechanical Designer

Airswift is actively looking for 2 x Mechanical Designers with a materials handling and layout background to work across our clients major Iron Ore Project. Ideally, they are looking for a seasoned Senior Mechanical Designer as well as an experienced Junior to join their high performing team. The role will be offered on an initial 12-month contract based in the Perth CBD.





About the Role:

• Design robust systems for bulk material handling, including conveyors, chutes, hoppers, and bins.
  
• Integrate designs with overall plant layout to optimize material flow and space utilization.
  
• Incorporate safety features and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  
• Produce models and detailed technical drawings, in accordance with standards, policies and procedures.
  
• Demonstrate a high standard of health, safety and environmental standards, promoting a culture of safety excellence throughout all project phases.
  

Required skills / experience:

• As a Senior it is envisioned you will bring 15+ years of experience as a mechanical designer within an EPCM mining environment – we are looking for a true senior.
  
• As a Junior, it is envisioned you will bring 2+ years of experience as a mechanical designer within an EPCM mining environment.
  
• MicroStation Connect 2D & 3D modelling proficiency.
  
• Mining background essential.
  
• Experience working on BHP projects highly regarded.
  
• Comfortable and able to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with a keen eye for detail.
