The Company

An Australian based Engineering consultancy with a portfolio of mining projects. Currently one of the projects (mines) is going through an upgrade and needs more support to the team.

 

The Role

As the Project Engineer, you will support the senior project engineer and manage the engineering aspects of the project. The role includes planning/scheduling, procurement and QA/QC of the new mechanical equipment in the mining facilities. The project engineer ensures these projects are completed on time, within scope, and meet all quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing project schedules, progress updates, budgets, and resource plans.

  • Assist in preparing technical packages for equipment and material procurement.

  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.

  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during project execution.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project documentation.

  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and vendors to ensure project milestones are achieved.

  • Act as a liaison between the project team, contractors, and clients to ensure clear communication.

  • Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions.

  • Ensure that all engineering work complies with applicable site specifications, regulations, standards, and practices.

  • Ensure all project activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years+) in project engineering within the MINING industry is essential

  • Familiarity with project management tools e.g., MS Project

  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.

  • Commitment to company’s values of safety, integrity, and sustainable operations.

  • On site 10 hours – Monday-Friday

  • Get home every night
