About the Role:
You will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and implementing process solutions that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for gold or copper processing plants.
- Conduct mass and energy balances for new and existing operations.
- Support feasibility studies, scoping studies, and detailed engineering design.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including metallurgists, mechanical engineers, and project managers.
- Evaluate and select process equipment and technologies.
- Participate in HAZOP and risk assessments.
- Provide technical support during commissioning and start-up phases.
- Ensure compliance with Australian mining regulations and environmental standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
- 2–5 years of experience in process design or plant operations within the mining sector (gold or copper ).
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, HSC Chemistry, or Aspen Plus).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to travel to remote sites as required.
- Experience with Australian mining projects or operations.
- Knowledge of hydrometallurgical processes such as leaching, solvent extraction, and electrowinning.
- Familiarity with sustainability practices and process decarbonization.
