Job Title: Planning Engineer – Shipbuilding

Location: Singapore

Eligibility: Open to Singapore or Permanent (PRs) only

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Planning Engineer to support the scheduling and planning of shipbuilding projects. This role is essential to ensuring efficient project execution, maintaining strong communication with project teams, and delivering timely insights to management. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, industry experience, and analytical thinking to drive successful outcomes in a fast-paced shipbuilding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain up-to-date project documentation, including planning files, schedule updates, and progress reports.
  • Track and document lessons learned and historical data to support continuous improvement.
  • Analyze project schedules and verify programme updates for accuracy and feasibility.
  • Maintain a change matrix to track variations and other project-related events.
  • Develop and monitor progress measurement tools such as histograms, S-curves, and KPIs.
  • Conduct critical path analysis and evaluate the effectiveness of mitigation strategies.
  • Assess potential schedule impacts due to scope changes or delays.
  • Review progress reports and provide clear, concise updates to management.
  • Perform regular schedule risk analyses to identify potential bottlenecks and risks.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Solid understanding of shipbuilding processes, fabrication techniques, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and trends.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • A collaborative team player who can also lead and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Prior experience in a shipbuilding or complex manufacturing environment is highly .
  • A degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and reliability in all scheduling and reporting activities.
