Join a pioneering team in the energy sector as a Nuclear Physics Assistant, where your expertise in Monte Carlo modeling will contribute to groundbreaking research in nuclear probe measurements. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a top project, enhancing our understanding of subsurface reservoirs and making a significant impact in the field.

Role Overview

  • Conduct MCNP and GEANT4 modeling of nuclear probes in both open and cased hole contexts, including model creation, simulation, and results .
  • Dimension simulations to achieve statistical targets for accurate modeling.
  • Process simulation results, produce importance maps, and generate sensitivity functions using supplied scripts.
  • Integrate generated maps into existing log forward modeling code.
  • Adapt workflows for various acquisition modes, including temporal or spectral windows and multi-detector tools.
  • Work with a range of logging tools such as carbon/oxygen ratio, inelastic/capture ratio, litho-density probe, photoelectric factor, and natural gamma radiation.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Analytical Measurements: Strong background in analytical measurements related to nuclear physics.
  • MCNP: Familiarity with MCNP modeling software is highly desirable.
  • GEANT4: Experience with GEANT4 for simulation purposes is a plus.
  • Model Design: Proficiency in designing models for physical simulations.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to analyze synthetic or real data effectively.

Education & Experience

  • Qualifications: A degree in Nuclear Physics, Engineering, or a related field is .
  • Experience: Prior experience in Monte Carlo modeling or nuclear probe measurements is advantageous.
