We are seeking a highly experienced and certified NDT Level 3 Manager to lead our Non-Destructive Testing operations within our aerospace Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Brisbane. This role holds approving authority for NDT procedures and personnel qualifications, ensuring compliance with CASA, EASA, and NAS 410 standards. The position is open to both local and expatriate professionals, with relocation and visa sponsorship available for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the authorised approver for all NDT procedures, techniques, and personnel certifications.
- Develop, review, and approve NDT procedures for aircraft structures, engines, and components.
- Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace standards including CASA, EASA, ASNT, and NAS 410.
- Lead and mentor a team of Level 1 and Level 2 NDT technicians.
- Conduct internal audits and support external regulatory audits.
- Interface with regulatory bodies and customers regarding NDT compliance and findings.
- Maintain and update the company’s NDT manual and training matrix.
- Investigate and report NDT-related discrepancies and non-conformances.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in inspection and quality control processes.
- Manage NDT equipment calibration and maintenance schedules.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Certified NDT Level 3 in at least UT, PT, MT, ET, and preferably RT.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in aerospace NDT, with at least 3 years in a managerial or approving role.
- Familiarity with ADF aircraft, RAAF protocols, or defence aerospace environments is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in procedure development and staff qualification under EN 4179 or NAS 410.
- Strong understanding of CASA and EASA regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
