Mechanical Engineer III

We are seeking a skilled Project Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of expansion and growth enhancement projects within the Oil and Gas industry, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and operational reliability. 

Role Overview 

  • Manage relationships and contracts with Engineering service providers. 

  • Lead design review processes to ensure compliance with regulatory codes and specifications. 

  • Ensure adherence to internal standards and procedures, including Process Hazard Assessments. 

  • Review vendor material quotations and manage material requisitioning. 

  • Plan and schedule design and procurement phases of projects. 

  • Provide technical support throughout all project phases, including development, construction, and commissioning. 

  • Specify hydrotest pressure requirements and review results for compliance. 

  • Oversee engineering firms in incorporating red-line markups into as-built drawings. 

  • Act as Engineering control account manager for budget, schedule, and technical objectives. 

  • Support project scope, schedule, capital cost estimates, execution planning, and risk management. 

  • Assist Operations with incident investigations post-project handover. 

  • Incorporate lessons learned from past projects into future designs. 

  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers. 

Skills & Qualifications 

  • Project Management: Proven experience in managing engineering projects. 

  • Design Expertise: Strong background in engineering system design within the Oil and Gas sector. 

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards. 

  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with HYSYS, Unisim, Control Valve Sizing, Piping Hydraulics, PSV/PVRV Sizing, Vessel/HEX Sizing, and Pump Performance. 

  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical issues to diverse stakeholders. 

  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills for resolving complex engineering challenges. 

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution. 

  • Professional Engineer designation required. 

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in engineering design and commissioning in the Oil and Gas industry.
